"Look, look..."

I heard this statement during the latter part of last week:
"Look, look, if you can't like this black man not only as president but as another human being, there's no black man that's been made that you will like" - Michael Dyson, on the Chris Mathews show

There's so much wrong with this statement that I don't know where to start. What this guy is saying is if you don't like Barack Obama then there's no black man you can like. So he's saying if you don't like Barack Obama then you don't like any other black person. Thus if your aren't black then not liking Barack Obama would make are a racist, since you don't like black people in general. How outrageous is this? How can someone make this claim without anyone in the mainstream media recognizing it and repudiating it?

Also, how can anyone "like" Barack Obama - or any other past president - as a person, like Mike Dyson is saying? Unless you met the president, shook his hand, and spent time getting to know him, how would you know if you like him? Just take this guy's word for it? I personally don't like the policies Obama has been backing. I don't think the policies he is backing are good for the country and based on this I don't think he should be president.

There are a lot of black people in politics I like based on their ideas and actions. I like them because they understand the Constitution, they reject socialism, and they understand basic economics - all of which, I might add, are the antithesis of our current president. Walter Williams I like, he's a black, I like him because he understands economics, he understands the Constitution. In fact, I recommend everyone check out Walter William's new book Up from the Projects: An Autobiography in which he talks about his struggles in life from growing in the ghetto to climbing America's corporate ladder to some of the highest achievable positions. His example should be read by all Americans - that is, the example that with sweat and hard work, anything can be achieved.
