Over the weekend, the RNC Chair declared Mitt Romney the nominee. But this is violating the rules of the Republican party. Why is this? Well here is Rule 11 of the Republican Party rules:
"The Republican National Committee shall not, without the prior written and filed approval of all members of the Republican National Committee from 13 of 41 the states involved, contribute money or in-kind aid to any candidate for any public or party office except the nominee of the Republican Party or a candidate who is unopposed in the Republican primary after the filing deadline for that office..."
What the RNC chair is violating is the fact that Ron Paul is still running, and Romney has NOT secured the nomination of the Republican Party. Now that the RNC has declared Mitt Romney the defacto nominee allows Mitt Romney to dramatically increase campaign contributions limits and raise more money to the detriment of Ron Paul. Additionally, evidently the RNC is paying for campaign ads for Mitt Romney.
Like I said, the last I saw Ron Paul was still running. In fact, I saw him last night in California with 5000 other supporters. First there where 10 candidates. Now there are two. Mitt Romney and Ron Paul. This is just another example of the RNC/GOP screwing over Ron Paul. This is not democratic in any way. This is just like a Russian election. Unbelievable! The RNC has BROKEN GOP rule 11 and started support when there is still a legitimate contender, Ron Paul. Remaining states are now disenfranchised. Anybody who doesn't think the GOP plays favorites should see by this example that cronyism is alive and well in the GOP!
