I wrote this a month before the election this year and thought it was worth posting here. Even though the election is over, I still think it's worth sharing to illustrate there is no real difference in mentality between the Democrats and the Republicans in elected office. Sure, the rhetoric might be different between the Democrats and the Republicans, but ultimately they are marginally different. You can substitute "Romney/Ryan" in this article for "John Boehner"; they are the same party, same shit.
I've seen all kinds of emails bashing Obama and not discussing Romney/Ryan. Some in the form of cartoons and others with story-telling, etc. I gotta admit I get a laugh out of them, but I also get a kick out of the fact that there is a lack of comparison anyone is doing between Obama and Romney camps. The thing is the two are marginally different.

With regards to the budget, here is what Mr. conservatives Romney/Ryan have been saying:
Doesn’t want to cut Medicare
Doesn’t want to cut Social Security
Doesn’t want to cut Defense - has stated wants to increase
Can’t cut interest on the National Debt any further – for the first time in history interest rates have been held at 0 for four years and inevitably will go higher
These four (4) items above are 75% of the budget. What does Paul Ryan want to do? He wants to slightly cut the other 25%? Meanwhile, however as much as Paul Ryan wants to cut that 25%, the 75% he doesn't want to cut is going to grow much faster than whatever cuts he’ll make in the other 25%.
We might get rid of Obama, but we haven’t got rid of Obama’s political philosophy, we haven’t got rid of his ideas. If Obamacare is so bad then why is Medicare so good? What’s the fundamental difference between these two programs? Obamacare is worse because when you boil it down it’s Medicare only much bigger. Paul Ryan has been praising Medicare and says he won't cut a dime. He wants society to pay for elderly - in other words he likes socialized medicine and he rejects self-reliance and wants massive government spending. Republicans want their cake and eat it to - they want to talk about limited government and less government spending but not when it comes to the programs that benefit them. By Paul Ryan's logic, if Medicare is good then Obamacare would be even better, but instead he says the opposite. If you really want small government you can't exempt entitlements.
If Romney/Ryan get the nomination then this year there is not a monumental choice between extreme socialism and extreme laizze fair, capitalism. Despite what the picture that the mainstream media wants to paint, Obama and Romney are two sides of the same coin.
