Clinton v Trump Debate 2016: Round 1 Observations

Is this debate a competition to see which candidate's ideas defecate more over the US Constitution? Here's a sampling:

Trump: We need to "stop and frisk".
IN OTHER WORDS he's saying is the 2nd amendment doesn't apply to blacks and hispanics.
AMENDMENTS VIOLATED: 2nd and 4th

Clinton: We need to get our young people out of college debt free.
IN OTHER WORDS she's saying to the government even more involved in education.  Crappy idea.  Read this article, it holds true today: http://politicalplangetis.blogspot.com/2013/08/student-loans-resurfaces-again-as.html
AMENDMENTS VIOLATED: There is nothing in Constitution authorizing the Department of Education and government loans for college.

Clinton & Trump: No Fly List is good criteria for person not being able to purchase a gun.
IN OTHER WORDS if this were 50 years ago people like MLK Jr would not be able to purchase a gun.  Horrible idea.
AMENDMENTS VIOLATED: 2nd.

Clinton: We need to take guns off the streets...
AMENDMENTS VIOLATED: 2nd

Clinton and Trump: We are working with NATO (and should be).
IN OTHERS WORDS keep working with and being a part of NATO.  There is no provision in the US Constitution for the US to be in NATO.

Clinton and Trump: Let's fight in the Middle East.
IN OTHER WORDS let's continue fighting wars where Congress has not formally issued a declaration of war.

Other thooughts:

  • Clinton sounds like a seasoned lawyer / politician.
  • Trump really rambles and talks about everything in terms of "deals".
  • Trump discussed the Federal Reserve and its impact on the economy.  Which is a great thing.  Clinton does not mention at all the Federal Reserve - the Clintons obviously are in the Fed's back pocket.  The Federal Reserve is a collection of banks that the US Federal Government has NO checks or balances on.  The Federal Reserve is arguably more powerful than the three branches of government combined.  I write about the Federal Reserve's powerful impact on our economy extensively in this blog.
  • I hope Bernie Sanders supporters have learned their lesson by now. This man was a sellout long before he ever ran for president. Bernie is discouraging people from voting for candidates who are far less morally repugnant than the woman he betrayed his supporters to endorse.  Bernie is a fraud.
  • Regarding ISIS: keep in mind the United States wanted ISIS to emerge. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1aDciHCejA
  • Really need a third or fourth voice in this debate.
