History Lesson for A Staunch Anti-Gun Individual

I think there is a fundamental difference between us, which is you trust government in general and I do not trust government in general. My reason for not trusting government is I have read and understand what governments have done to their nations including their people and I have a lack of trust in them. As an example, governments killed 200+ million of their own people in the 20th century. Of their OWN people, not by other countries but their own people.
You cannot ignore history. The leaders who created gun control schemes; and people of the 20th century who were subjected to genocide after the gun control schemes were put in place both may have thought gun control was “reasonable” at some time. Therefore I don't see your point.
Here’s a history lesson for everyone.
The 2nd amendment was not written for you to shoot deer. It was written for you to shoot the bad guys when the government can’t and won’t. AND it was created to shoot at the government when it is taken by tyrants. That is how we became a country. We shot at the soldiers of kings and we beat them because we had military equipment equal to or better than theirs and we won and we created a free government.
If the colonists had had their guns registered with kings’ agents in London as the government wants us to do now, well then Jefferson and Washington would have been captured and hanged and we wouldn't have become a free nation because they would have known where to take the guns from and they would have rolled all over us. As well if the kings’ soldiers had gunpowder and the colonists had crossbows then Jefferson and Washington would have been captured as well and hanged and we would not have been free.
The fact that we cannot have anything close at all to the military might of the government means we already have TOO much gun control and we have allowed the government to get too large and take too many of our rights.
