Unlike most other people online, I’m no criminal justice lawyer. Therefore, I am not qualified like the people on Facebook, Twitter, etc, who have shared their professional opinion on the verdict of the trail and who also happen to have a background in criminal law. BUT I will say these few things that the media seemed to overlook while this trial was happening...
There is an unreported murder in the city of Chicago every single day, and not just during the trial. Many of these just as controversial as the murder of Trayvon Martin. Why hasn't the media publicized any of these murders, many of them being unjust and/or controversial?
The number of persons employed part time for economic reasons increased by 322,000 to 8.2 million in June. http://tinyurl.com/t68g The number of full time jobs actually declined by at least 162,000 on net last month. No net full-time jobs created last month. Why isn’t this a headline? Isn't this sort of a big deal? Instead our media has consistently twisted the data month after month to say whatever job numbers come out indicate positive jobs data. Sorry but it's tough for people to pay a full-time mortgage with a part-time job.
At least 51 people will killed in Egypt a few days ago by the Egyptian military. http://tinyurl.com/oz9s8k5 Our government is supporting this Egyptian military that has overthrown the Egyptian government. If a military is used to overthrow a leader, then the US is supposed to cut off diplomatic ties. US law is clear about this issue. The President knows that, politicians know that. Washington however isn’t doing this, and people don’t seem to care and are apathetic, while innocent Egyptians are dying from this. This definitely isn't the first time that the US has supported the overthrow of other governments unlawfully, but that also shouldn't be an excuse for our leaders in Washington to continue this trend.
